In a world full of digital distractions, many of us rarely pick up a physical book anymore. Yet for me, there remains something truly special about turning the pages, smelling the scent of paper, and completely immersing myself in a story or a topic. 😉

Here are my personal favorites:

„Drei Minuten mit der Wirklichkeit“ (Three Minutes with Reality) – Wolfram Fleischauer This was my very first tango book—and it enchanted me immediately. I read it just as I was starting out with tango. The novel takes you straight to Buenos Aires and right into the heart of the tango world. Written so grippingly that it is hard to put down.

Michael Lavocah – „Tango Stories: What the Music Tells“ (and subsequent volumes) Anyone wanting to learn more about tango music cannot bypass Michael Lavocah. In Tango Stories, he takes you on a fascinating journey through the music. Beyond that, he has dedicated entire books to the great orchestras like Pugliese, Di Sarli, Troilo, D’Arienzo, Canaro, and Fresedo—a treasure for anyone wanting to dive deeper into tango music.

„Tango Tips by the Maestros“ – Dimitris Bronowski A unique project: Over 40 tango teachers from around the world have gathered their knowledge and perspectives here. Each author focuses on a specific topic, creating a colorful collection of inspiration that you can pick up again and again.

„Secretos del abrazo“ – Ruben Veliz Unfortunately, this book is currently only available in Spanish and English—but for anyone wanting to learn more about the technique and nuances of the dance, the search is well worth it. A true insider tip for tango enthusiasts.

„Im Kontakt mit der Realität“ (In Touch with Reality) – Angela Nicotra The author is a dance therapist who intensively explores the Sistema Dinzel. The book provides fascinating insights into the connection between dance, bodywork, and personal development—an enrichment for anyone seeking to understand tango far beyond just the steps.
